Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

ReleaseView (“we”, “our”, “us”) is an AI-powered release notes generator. You can contact us at tiago@releaseview.com.

2. Data we collect

When you register we collect your email address. We use this to send you product updates and, where applicable, to create and manage your account.

We also collect GitHub OAuth tokens when you connect a GitHub account, solely to access repositories you explicitly authorise.

3. Analytics

The public homepage uses Ahrefs Analytics to understand site traffic. Analytics and referral scripts are not loaded in the shared layout used by authenticated pages or email preference links. Our hosting provider also processes request logs for service operation and security.

4. Legal basis for processing

We process your email address on the basis of your consent (previous waiting-list sign-ups) or contract performance (registered account). You may withdraw consent at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email we send you.

5. Data storage

Your data is stored in Supabase. We do not sell your data to third parties.

AI processing and publication

When you generate or refine release notes, selected repository content or note text is sent to OpenRouter and a model provider. We request providers that deny data collection and support zero data retention. These controls do not mean the content stays on ReleaseView servers. Avoid including credentials or secrets in repository content used for drafting.

Drafts, source commits, credentials, and audience contact lists are not included in public changelog, REST API, or MCP responses. Release notes you publish are public. Email delivery providers process the recipients and content needed to send your updates.

6. Your rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or port your personal data, and to object to processing. To exercise any of these rights, email us at tiago@releaseview.com.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
